The frequency of uveitis with rheumatoid diseases- Inflammation of the uveal tract has many causes and may involve one or all three portions simultaneously. Uveitis is concomitant with many forms of arthritis. An understanding of uveitis can contribute to appropriate diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic disease. Untreated uveitis may lead to permanent loss of vision. In order to establish the association between uveitis and rheumatic and otoimmune diseases, a retrospective study was performed in patients with uveitis in Ophthalmological department. Idiopathic uveitis was the largest group (% 65,72) followed by uveitis associated with rheumatic and otoimmune disease (% 30). In which Behçet's disease was the largest group (% 80) followed by ankylosing spondylitis (AS) (% 10), juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) (% 10), and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) (% 5). One patient was suffering from both ankylosing spondylitis and Behçet's disease.
