Posture Analysis In Highschool Students We planned a school screening study including 11 highschools in order to find out the prevalence of postural abnormalities which occur by various reasons in the musculoskeletal system in the young who are in the adolescence  period in the city center of Edirne. This study was carried out among 436 students (218 males and 218 females) out of total 3709 students through the random sample method. Through anamnesis and physical examination, we found out the increased dorsal kyphosis in 71 students and we performed the anteroposterior and lateral spinal radiographies of these students. The dorsal kyphosis in the radiographies were evaluated by Cobb’s method. In the study group there were 34 males (47.9%) and 37 females (52.1%). The age of students are between 14-17 years. According to Cobb’s method, the kyphosis angles of the students were between 14°-43°( average 26.2°±7.9). 40°-43° was found out in 8 students. The kyphosis which occur with the reason such as to compensate the breast development of the girls in puberty, to carry heavy schoolbags and wrong posture can be cured with an early diagnosis. If this kyphosis isn’t cured with an early diagnosis, it can cause psychosocial problems. Consequently, we believe that the screening studies at schools must be carried out more commonly.
