Preventive Medicine Studies for the Elderly in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality

As life expectancy goes up, individualized preventive approaches for the elderly becomes more important. To begin with the studies that defines the involved population correctly is essential for developing evidence based, cost-effective preventive strategies. To achieve this, sixty years old or older patients who fits the criteria of frail elderly and who have been reached during Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) applications as well as who have applied to the first line health services of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality have been evaluated. Besides, a cross-sectional study were conducted to define the major health concerns and expectations as well as their interactions  with social & economic issues among elderly who lives in Istanbul.
