Compression of the deep branch of the ulnar nerve: A case report: This raper presents the differential diagnosis of a case with poliomyelitis in whom progressive atrophy of the left hand intrinsic muscles developed during the last five years. Postpolio syndrome and ulnar nerve entrapment were primarily investigated due to the fact that the patient had had poliomyelitis and was using double canadian crutches. The elektrophysiologic and clinical findings were competant wih entrapment of the ulnar nerve. Motor and sensory nerve conduction studies were normal in the ulnar nerve and motor conduction was also normal in abductor digiti muscle whereas abnormal motor conduction was recorded in the first dorsal interosseous muscle which demonstrated compression of the deep branch of n.ulnaris in the distal Guyon's canal is a common site for ulnar nerve cmopression and the callus seen on the palmar surface of the hand of our case was also considered as a positive sign for compression o the nerve.
