Karpal Tünel Sendromunun Tedavisinde İstirahat, İstirahat + Fizik Tedavi ve İstirahat + Lokal Steroid Enjeksiyonunun Etkinliği

The effectiveness of immobilization, immobilization+physical therapy and immobilization+local steroid injection in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome - Nineteen patients complaining of paraesthesiase in hands and diagnosed as carpal tunnel syndrome were evaluated. Thirty hands were randomly divided into three groups. The first group was given immobilization splint, the second was given physical therapy and immobilization splint, and the third was given local corticosteroid injection and immobilization splint. These cases reevaluated according to pain, paraesthesia, sensorial impairment, Tinel's Sign and Phalen's Sign at the end of the treatment and 1 month and 3 month after treatment. The results showed that; in all groups thetreatments were significantly effective and there was no significant difference between three groups. On the other hand the symptoms recurred in the first and third groups three months after the treatments.
