The evaluation of the localisation of osteoarthritis according to anthropometric measurement. In this study we investigated the relationship between the localisation of osteoarthritis and anthropometric measurements in patients with osteoarthritis and compared with a control group. One hundred for two patients with osteoarthritis were included and evaluated clinically and radiologically. The height, abdominal fat thickness, weight, body mass index and the distances between the vertex-papilla mammae, papilla mammae-symphysis pubis, symphysis pubis-floor were measured. Patients with piramry osteoarthritis were evaluated in three groups; servical, lumbar and knee. The mean age was 57.5+9.5 in patients with servical spondylosis, 67.0+8.1 in patients with lumbar spondylosis and 59.1+8.1 in patients with gonarthrosis. The mean age of the control group was 36.3+5.1. In this study we could not find any relationship between the localisation of the osteoarthritis and obesity. In patients with osteoarthritis the upper part of the body was found to be shorter than the control group. As a result, we can state that there was no relationship between the localisation of the osteoarthritis and the height, weight, abdominal fat thickness, body mass index.
