Bladder and bowel dysfunctions must be managed in spinal cord injury patients as they negatively effect quality of life and can be life threatening if not treated. Continuing growth and physical and psycological maturation raise the need of spesific approaches in the management of these problems in paediatric spinal cord injured individuals. In this review clinical practice, dissimilarities with adult patients and clinical experience about neurogenic bladder and bowel in paediatric spinal cord injury patients are presented.
