Osteitis Pubis; A Separete Disease from Osteomyelitis of the Symphisis Pubis: 50 year old male patient who underwent aprostatectomy experienced dysuria and pain in his groin and inner thighs, three months after the operation. He was walking wiith difficulty and had a waddling gait. A pelvic radiogram revealed rarefaction in both sides of th esymphisis pubis, small cystic changes and bilateral sclerosis. A biopsy obtained from his pelvic bone revealed chronic non-spesific inflammatory changes. Culture of the biopsy specimen remained sterile. A culture of urine revealed pseudomonas aeruginosa. He was started on combined antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drug and had been given rest for a long period. Clinical and radiological findings inproved 1.5 months after the therapy was initiated. We eventually discussed infections and non-infectious diseases of osteitis pubis because of this case.
